Canterbury Library

The weekend our festival launches is also the launch weekend of the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge and we'll be working with the library to add a brilliant range of interactive events, story treasure hunts, meet the author and more in their beautiful spaces.

The Long Rest

We love our local board game cafe and are thrilled to be running a Storytelling Board Games event for you during the festival! Spend a couple of hours exploring the wonderful world of guided storytelling through board games with us, and come back later to discover more on your own!​

Central Canterbury, accessible by bus or a short walk from Canterbury East and a slightly longer one from Canterbury West station. Nearest car park Quenin Gate/Whitfriars/Watling St.

Chapters Books and Coffee

Sturry's very own beautiful bookshop cafe will â€‹

be hosting many events over the festival weekend, with a plethora of different things happening and all the tasty snacks for everyone while you create.

Sturry, accessible by bus from Canterbury, Herne & Thanet, 2 mins walk from Sturry train station. Limited, on street parking (1 hour) or use Sturry Road Park & Ride.​

The garden of The Old Synagogue

The Old Synagogue

We are very lucky to be able to use this not often seen space tucked away in the heart of the city. On Saturday 12th July we'll have events both inside and out of The Old Synagogue, so come along and enjoy a look around one of the city's secret spaces!

Waterstones

The children's section in Waterstones, Canterbury has always been a beautiful thing and we are thrilled that they are one of the venues for our inaugural festival. They will be hosting storytimes, drawalongs, author q&a's and lots more over the course of the weekend.

Central Canterbury, accessible by bus or an easy walk from Canterbury East, a slightly longer walk from Canterbury West. Nearest car parks are Whitefriars multi storey or Watling Street.

The Wildwood Trust

Stories happen outdoors just as much as indoors at tables and chairs, and there will be a range of events happening at The Wildwood Trust in Herne throughout the festival weekend. Including a poetry trail created by local school children, storytelling, author events and craft workshops. Explore stories in the open air and see some amazing animals as you go!
